PDF watermark
How see-through the watermark is. It is drawn with true PDF transparency, not as an image.
How watermarking works
Choose one PDF, type the text you want stamped on it, pick a position and an opacity, then choose Add watermark. The result downloads as watermarked.pdf, with your text drawn into every page.
Good to know
- Everything happens in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded or stored anywhere.
- The watermark is real, selectable text written into each page with a transparency setting — not an image and not a separate overlay file.
- Pages keep their original size, fonts and images; nothing is re-compressed.
- This first version reads standard PDFs with classic cross-reference tables. Password-protected PDFs, and files that use newer compressed cross-references, cannot be read yet.
Questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The watermark is stamped in your browser on your device, and your file never leaves it.
Which PDFs can be watermarked?
Standard PDFs with classic cross-reference tables, which covers most PDFs. Password-protected PDFs, and files that use newer compressed cross-references, cannot be read by this first version.
Is the watermark text or an image?
Real text. It is written into each page as a text operation with a transparency setting, so it stays sharp at any zoom. It is not an image and not a separate overlay file.
Where can I put the watermark?
Diagonal across the center of the page, along the top, along the bottom, or tiled so it repeats across the whole page. The opacity slider controls how see-through it is.
What is the new file called?
It downloads as watermarked.pdf.
